Curator Marananga 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon

Belonging to the original Curator range, this Marananga Cabernet Sauvignon was estate grown and hand-picked, open fermented and basket pressed into only French oak. 60% new with the remaining percentage aged in second fill French oak for 24 months. The wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered.

96 points – Sam Kim February 2020 – A super-impressive cabernet; the richly expressed bouquet shows cassis, dark plum, smoked game and cedar characters with a hint of tobacco complexity. The palate delivers powerful fruit intensity and density, backed by fine texture and wonderfully integrated tannins, making the wine bold and sturdy, yet seamless and sophisticated at the same time. At its best: 2022 to 2037

93 Points Mike Bennie The Wine Front May 2020 – Big choc-mint, choc-berry scents. Straight up. Supple, soft, pillowy texture, so smooth and rich, like molten chocolate with flavours not too dissimilar. Choc-berry, choc-mint, salted chocolate, mint. Lush as. This will find an audience, and it’s done well in its lavish, neck oil style.
