Curator Marananga Shiraz
Belonging to the original Curator range, this wine was created to be reflect the differences in our Barossa vineyard locations and their unique micro climates. This 2015 Marananga Shiraz is sourced from the winery block and was hand-picked, open fermented and basket pressed into only French oak. 60-70% new with the remaining percentage aged in second fill oak for 24 months. The wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered.
94 Points – James Halliday 2019 Wine Companion – It’s not until you have taken several breaths after tasting the wine that the alcohol makes its presence felt, but there’s a power of black fruit, liquorice and new French oak…. the quality is undeniable.
97 points – Sam Kim February 2019 – This is immensely gratifying and engaging on the nose showing dark fruit intensity together with seductive notes of vanilla, spicy oak, smoked game and olive. The palate exhibits impressive concentration and weight, brilliantly enhanced by terrific fruit purity and richness, wonderfully supported by velvety mouthfeel and fine/firm tannins. At its best: 2020 to 2032.
